Challenge

Our challenge was to organise a charity event to raise funds and awareness for The Children's Society amidst tight time constraints. The first hurdle was connecting the event with the charity's mission. Originally, the plan A was a waterball event, but venue rejections led us to switch to an art-themed event called 'Splash of Hope.' Despite the time pressure, we successfully managed the project and created a meaningful event that embodied The Children's Society's values. Participants explored self-expression through art, and the event conveyed love and hope to support vulnerable children. Our team's dedication and adaptability made the event a resounding success, demonstrating the power of creativity in making a positive impact.

Objective

The "Splash of Hope" Sip and Paint in Love Theme & Support The Children's Society event was held on July 26, 2023, at Bath Brew House, organized by the University of Bath master students. The event aimed to raise funds and awareness for The Children's Society, while providing participants with a unique and delightful experience of creating art through watercolor painting. Attendees were invited to spend an enchanting evening in Bath Brew House's private studio, unleashing their creativity while enjoying their favorite drinks.

SMART Objective

Specific

The primary objective of the "Splash of Hope" Sip and Paint event is to raise awareness and critical funds for The Children's Society's impactful programs and services, which provide essential support and assistance to vulnerable young individuals facing various challenges, such as abuse, homelessness, mental health struggles, and exploitation. The event will focus on the theme of love, encouraging participants to explore and express their personal perspectives on love through captivating artworks on canvas.

Measurable

To assess the event's performance, we have established an achievable objective of gathering a minimum of 50 people. Each participant will participate in the creative process by painting a unique masterpiece on the given high-quality canvases and paints. The attendance of 50 people will serve as a meaningful sign of the event's effect and community participation.

Attainable

To ensure the attainability of the target, a comprehensive promotional strategy will be employed. Leveraging a multi-channel approach, we will utilize social media platforms, local community networks, and The Children's Society's established outreach channels to spread the word about the event. Collaborating with local businesses and community centers will further amplify our reach and attract participants who are passionate about supporting both art and The Children's Society's noble cause.

Relevant

The event's focus on celebrating love resonates deeply with The Children's Society's mission, which is dedicated to creating a world where vulnerable young lives receive the compassion, care, and empowerment they deserve. By aligning the event's theme with the organization's core values, we seek to underscore the importance of love, empathy, and support in transforming the lives of those who may have nowhere else to turn.

Time-limited

The "Splash of Hope" Sip and Paint event will be conducted on a specific date, limiting the fundraising activity to that particular day. This time constraint will create a sense of urgency, encouraging active participation and timely support. Following the event, all proceeds from ticket sales and any additional donations collected during the event will be promptly presented to The Children's Society, ensuring that the contributions fulfill their intended purpose without delay.

The "Splash of Hope" Sip and Paint event in the Love Theme, organised in conjunction with The Children's Society, aims to achieve an SMART objective that blends the celebration of love through painting with critical help for vulnerable young people. The event aims to make a positive difference in the lives of children suffering adversity by generating awareness and vital funding for The Children's Society's programs and services. The goal of attracting 50 participants assures a meaningful engagement with the community, establishing relationships and support for both the creative manifestations of love and the evolving purpose of The Children's Society (Ravald and Grönroos, 1996). In order to achieve this goal, a strong promotional campaign will be implemented, using the strength of numerous communication platforms and community networks. The event's theme, "Love," highlights The Children's Society's basic principles by emphasising the need of compassion and caring in improving young lives (Ravald and Grönroos, 1996). The fundraising effort will be time-limited with a specific timeframe, ensuring a quick transfer of earnings to the organisation for instant effect and continuous support of their worthy endeavours.
